Burger King is Feeding Our Fears- But Only for An Hour

At one point or another, we’ve all been woken up in the middle of the night. You can’t sleep, thoughts race, every movement makes your heart beat faster. Something makes an unexpected thud. You sit up in bed, look frantically around the room, only to realize there’s no one there. You check your phone - it reads 3 AM. The hour when most paranormal activity is said to occur.

It’s also a great time for a snack.

This week, Burger King launched its latest campaign, “3 AM Apparitions” to beat that late-night (or early morning) craving. The campaign challenges those brave enough to set their alarms for the scariest time of the day during the scariest week of the year. The reward? A free meal on the Burger King app.

Now, I’m not one to set my alarm just to get a free meal I’m most likely going to be too tired to eat. To be honest, I don’t even like Burger King. But I do like this concept. There are plenty of insomniacs and die-hard Halloween fans (pun intended) that I can imagine celebrating the holiday in a haunted house with some free Whoppers.

These days, the pandemic has changed the way businesses set themselves apart from other chains, especially in the delivery space. Delivery services have become a food industry staple. As the holidays approach, businesses will have to get creative with promos and campaigns like “3 AM Apparitions” to keep their products or services memorable.

Need some ideas? I’ve got plenty.
